The Single Resolution Board is the central resolution authority of the Banking Union. Together with national resolution authorities it forms the Single Resolution Mechanism, the counterpart to the ECB's supervisory arm: where the SSM supervises banks as going concerns, the SRB prepares for the possibility that one fails. It covers banks across the participating Member States and manages the Single Resolution Fund.
