EUR-Lex is the official database of European Union law, operated by the Publications Office of the European Union. It provides free access in all 24 official languages to the Official Journal of the European Union, the treaties, legislation in force, international agreements, preparatory acts, case-law of the Court of Justice, and national transposition measures. It holds every edition of the Official Journal back to the first, published on 30 December 1952.

EUR-Lex is the authoritative text. Every summary, alert and law-firm briefing eventually traces back to it, and the consolidated versions in particular are what tell you what a regulation says today rather than on the day it was adopted.
