The Banque de France is the French central bank and a member of the Eurosystem. It organises its work around three missions: monetary strategy, financial stability, and services to the economy. It helps formulate euro area monetary policy and implements it in France, monitors the financial system for emerging risk, and runs a set of public services ranging from company credit ratings to the household over-indebtedness procedure.

What the Banque de France publishes

  • Economic and monetary statistics, one of the richest public datasets on the French economy
  • The Bulletin de la Banque de France and its Rue de la Banque research notes
  • Financial stability assessments and risk analyses, including work feeding the Haut Conseil de stabilité financière
  • Macroeconomic projections for France, published several times a year
  • Annual reports, working papers and studies on payments, climate risk and financial innovation

Why it matters for compliance teams

The Banque de France is not a conduct regulator — the AMF and the ACPR handle that — but it sets much of the analytical context they operate in. Its financial stability work signals which sectors are about to attract supervisory attention, and its statistics are the reference series that French prudential thresholds and macroprudential measures are calibrated against.

Seqlense DOC indexes its publications alongside the ACPR material that shares its infrastructure and the ECB output it feeds into, so a French banking team can follow analysis and obligation in the same corpus.
